Generative AI tools, like the ones I often use, exhibit a "long tail" phenomenon. They excel at producing vast amounts of content but struggle with precision, especially as tasks become more exacting. Mastering AI assistance means recognizing when to intervene, ensuring we don't drown in a sea of irrelevant content. Balancing AI's efficiency with human creativity is crucial; sometimes the journey, not just the destination, defines the value of our work.
I love it when writers unfold topics and explain things in new ways. This is a really helpful post. The Fun Scale is definitely worth talking about!
Childbirth is Fun Type 3: not fun ever. But perhaps it could be a Type 3A: Not Fun Ever But You Have a Lot of Help and It's Worth It Anyway. One thing my mom said when I was pregnant with my first child really helped me: "You can't recreate physical pain: you can remember it hurt like hell, but you can't bring the pain back into your body after it's left."
I wonder if this is true for emotional pain as well. We can remember being sad / happy / angry, but once we have processed the emotion, the sting of it is lessened.
I appreciate that the physical action of climbing and going back down can help you recover and reset from an emotionally difficult place. You look peaceful in the picture. Thanks, Anna

Aww, thank you, Anna Marie!
Did you just discover a new wrung on the Fun Scale?! Your depiction of childbirth sounds accurate.
The emotional angle is so interesting, I'll think on that and perhaps someday your idea will pop up in another piece. Thank you for sharing that!
Warmly,
